Our Lady of Mount  Carmel  Church is located in the historical seaside town of Bristol, Rhode Island.  The Church was founded in 1917 following an 18 year tradition begun in 1899 by the Italian immigrants who came to this area honoring   Mary, Queen of Carmel with a feast and procession each year on the 16th of July.Click here for details.     This feast continues to this day in prayerful and joyous festivities. Come and visit us and give honor to the Blessed Mother of God as she leads us to Christ.

Remember O Most gracious Virgin Mary that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help or sought they intercession was left un aided.  Inspired by this confidence I fly unto thee O Virgin of Virgins my Mother. To thee I come before thee I stand sinful and sorrowful.  O Mother of the Word Incarnate depsise not my petitions but in thy mercy hear and answer me, AMEN

MSGR. JOHN W. LOLIO
1944-2012
REQUIESCAT IN PACE
It is with profound sadness that we learned of
the sudden death of our former pastor, Msgr.
John W. Lolio on May 6, 2012.. Msgr. Lolio was pastor here at
Mt. Carmel (1980 – 1992) after the Scalabrini
Fathers finished their administration of the
parish. At 36 years of age when he came, Msgr.
Lolio brought a youth and vibrancy to his
pastorate in Bristol. He will be fondly
remembered for the work he and the
parishioners together accomplished especially
in our parish school, the building of the parish
hall, the expansion of the feast, and the
beautification of the sanctuary. As well, and
most importantly, he touched the hearts of so
many with his thoughtfulness and kindness.
Our parish, the community of Our Lady of
Mercy in East Greenwich, where he currently
was pastor, and indeed the entire Diocese have
lost a gentle and generous worker in the
vineyard of the Lord. May Msgr. Lolio now be
gathered into the arms of our heavenly Father
and know the warmth and peace of the Blessed
Mother of God, Mary, Queen of Carmel.

SILENT AUCTION DINNER

CONGRATULATIONS

MOST REV. ROBERT C. EVANS

Ordained Auxiliary Bishop of the Diocese of Providence15 December 2009

Welcome to the Web Site of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish in Bristol, Rhode Island. Here at Mount Carmel we try our best to serve God and His Church with a lively faith, a steadfast hopefullness, and an abundance of charity. With an Italian Heritage as a foundation, the parish and our school, since the early 1900's, have grown in this journey of faith as we together proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ. With God's grace, we will continue on this pilgrimage as we grow in the light of Christ.

May Christ Jesus give you his peace.

Very Rev. Henry P. Zinno, Jr.

    Pastor

Vicar Forane, Deanery II
