This is the oldest Italian Feast in honor of the Blessed Mother

in the State of Rhode Island,

established by the Italian Immigrants to Bristol, Rhode Island in the year

1899

THE FEAST THIS YEAR WILL BE HELD ON

JULY 6 - 13, 2014

OPENING MASS:

SUNDAY, JULY 6, 2014, 10:30AM

HOMILIST:  Rev. Henry P. Zinno, Jr.

(This year, this mass will also be our commissioning Mass

for our young people who will be going to work

at the Mustard Seed Orphanage in Nicaragua and a time to wish Phillip Dufour God's Blessing as he heads out to theological studies for the Priesthood at the Pontifical North American College in Rome)

CONGRATULATIONS!

Bob and Donna are such wonderful parishioners who have assisted theparish in so many ways throughout the years.   They are tireless feast workers and bring a joy and exuberance to all they do. In leading our feast they will bring great joy to the parish as we give honor to the Blessed Mother of God, Queen of Carmel.

 

THE THOMAS VENDITUOLI, FAITH IN ACTION AWARD WINNER:

The Thomas Vendituoli Faith in Action award is

given to a young person under the age of 30 who displays the qualities that

were so much a part of Tom Vendituoli's life.

QUENT DICKMANN AND DOROTHY DICKMAN

This brother and sister combo, daughter and son of John and Lisa Dickmann

are so very much active in our faith.

Dorothy was one of our first missionaries to go to Nicaragua, and has assisted at so many parish breakfasts, pasta dinners, feast events, etc.  She is completing her freshmen year at Auburn University in Alabama.

Quent has been a altar server and MC, and has worked at the feast for many years.  He is a senior at Villanova Univeristy and there has been active in Campus Ministry on the Liturgical Committee serving as a lector and eucharistic minister and training other students to do the same.  ROTC, he will be commisioned as an officer in the Navy this May.

Msgr. Albert Kenney

Moderator of the Curia, Diocese of Providence

Msgr. Kenney studied at the Pontifical North American College in Rome and was ordained to the Priesthood on September 3, 1994.   He works extensively in many aread of Diocesan Adminsitration and resides at St. Luke's Parish in Barrignton, RI

Msgr. Anthony Mancini

Rector of the Cathedral of St. Peter and Paul, Providence

Music Director Gregorian Concert Choir

Msgr. Mancini studied at the Pontifical North American College in Rome and at Catholic University of Americna in Washington, DC. He was ordained on April 29, 1978. Fomerly pastor of Holy Cross Church in Providence, he is currently Rector of our Cathedral and the Muscial Director of the Gregorian Concert Choir.   Msgr. Mancini gave our Lenten Mission a few years ago.

Msgr. Paul D. Theroux

Former Moderator of the Curia, Diocese of Providence

Currently Pastor, St. Francis Parish, Wakefield, RI

Newly Appointed Pastor of Holy Apostles Church, Cranston, RI

Msgr. Theroux studied for the Priesthood at the American College in Leuven Belgium, and did Canon Law studies at Catholic University in Washington.  He was ordained on the Feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, July 16, 1977.  On July 1st of this year he will assume the pastorate of Holy Apostles Parish in Cranston.  Msgr. Theroux was Vicar General and Moderator of the Curia for many years.
